Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alex Lobos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alex, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
All the credit goes to my parents who did an excellent job providing for my sisters and I growing up. Our family never struggled, or at least I didn’t see any signs of it because they worked hard. In my early childhood my dad was the sole provider of our household. Once I entered middle school, my mom went back to work. I remember the days where I didn’t see my dad due to his work schedule. He would leave super early so I didn’t catch him before getting ready for school. It was the same at night… I was sleeping before he came home. When the Northridge earthquake hit in 94’ we moved closer to his job so not seeing each other was no longer an issue.
When we shopped, my mom would limit us to one item and it had to be on sale. In high school you feel the peer pressure but my sisters and I were never kids with huge social circles. We attained a lot of our parents work ethic and habits in our adulthood. Those habits made me a saavy survivor, a smart shopper and a sustainable business owner.

Alex, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Ever since I was little I wanted to teach, but growing up my natural artistic abilities formed the majority of my identity. My artistry was always acknowledged by my peers, instructors and mentors. It wasn’t difficult for me to figure out I wanted to purse something creative, however I also love education.
My mission as a business owner spawned from a natural evolution of all the things I’m passionate about. Did I ever plan to start a business? No, but I’ve learned how to create opportunities for myself even with limited resources just because I had talent, knowledge and excellent work ethic. The way I see it is, if I can do it, anyone can!

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Lobos.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Hi, I’m Alex Lobos, Owner of Elite Eyebrows & Makeup Studio. I’m from Los Angeles but have been living in Texas since 2011. My story starts with my LA roots. I’ve been an artist since I was a little girl and studied art fundamentals, such as drawing, painting, design, and photography.
When attending art school in LA, my teachers acknowledged my natural talent but encouraged me to go digital since careers in classic art were fading. I wanted to draw for a living, so this did not sit well with me. I followed my passion for classical art and got my B.F.A. in Visual Communications.
